Espresso coffee machine: general cleaning and maintenance rules
It is fundamental to carry out the cleaning and maintenance operations of the espresso coffee machines. Technicians report that over 80% of servicing operations carried out are due to errors made by baristas during cleaning or maintenance servicing.

Some handy hints can help improve the performance of the espresso coffee machine. It should be left on 24 hours a day, and the filter must be left in the correct position throughout this time, even when the coffee machine is not in use.

It is necessary to take assiduous care of its cleaning in order to keep the machine well maintained.

1) All parts made of steel and chrome, including the steam and hot water wands, must be cleaned with a damp cloth
2) The shower heads should be dismantled frequently and cleaned so that all holes are completely open.
3) Filters and filter rings  must be cleaned regularly, using boiling hot water and – if necessary the appropriate liquid detergent
4) In order to avoid scale deposits forming inside the boiler and the converter, the water softener must be in perfect condition. It is therefore necessary to regularly carry out ionic regeneration at fixed times, and refill salt into the water softener.

I love this coffee maker, I used one all through my student days; so I recently bought one from Florence at twice the value if you include post. But nowhere on the Internet that I have seen, does anyone say that when you 'flip' the pot, if it is done .....
