Seventy thousand French women between the ages of 41 and 72 took part in the research, followed for eleven years as part of the survey on the link between diet and chronic diseases. Experts observed how women who consumed three espressos a day saw their chances of getting sick lowered by 27 percent, those who took one after lunch by as much as 33 percent: these data would result from a positive influence of coffee on glucose metabolism.
