Is caffeine really addictive?

The reality is that people often claim to be "addicted" to caffeine in the same way they say they are "addicted" to shopping, work, or television. In fact, for most medical authorities, caffeine is not addictive. Habitual caffeine consumption if suddenly interrupted can cause, in some particularly sensitive individuals, headaches, fatigue or drowsiness. Usually these symptoms last for one or two days and can be avoided if caffeine intake is reduced gradually.
