Cnn has compiled a ranking of the best 30 bars in large hotels around the world.
At the top of the list is the Rock Bar at the Ayana Resort & Spa in Bali, a minimalist setting projected onto the sea and designed by Japanese architect Yasuhiro Koichi. This bar is considered on the island to be the best place to watch the sunset while sipping a good drink
In second place is Felix, on the 28th floor of one of Hong Kong's most famous hotels. Designed by Philippe Strack, it is a light-flooded venue with spectacular views.
Third position is taken by LanterndiSingapore, located on the fifth floor of the Fullerton Bay Hotel: it is an open-air bar designed by architect Andre Fu.
In the ranking, oriental bars far beat European and American ones. Bars in Tokyo, Saigon, Bangkok, etc., are all in the top positions. Among the highest ranked European bars areIce BardiCopenhagen, where everything inside is made with ice, and London's Connaught Bar, with its classic and impeccable style. In thirtieth place, the Rooftop BardiPuebla in Mexico closes the row.
And Italy? It ranks 21st with the Palazzetto Wine Bar, a dehors overlooking the Spanish Steps that allows you to sip a drink while sitting in the heart of Rome's Dolce Vita.
